With our activity recommendations

Now that we are only a month away from summer, the holidays are on everyone's mind. If you are yourself fond of discovery, you will definitely enjoy your stay at Nutchel ! Whether you are staying with your family, your friends, or your loved one, we have the best recommendations for activities to do around our two forest villages in the Belgian Ardennes and Alsace.

Two friends biking in the forest

Les Ardennes

Go kayaking:

Located in the small town of Chiny which lies in the province of Luxemburg, you’ll find kayaks and canoes for rental to use on the Semois river. Enjoy kayaking down the Semois with friends or family - the perfect way to take in the stunning landscapes of the valley and the Belgian Ardennes – and don’t forget to stop across the water to eat a delicious picnic in the middle of nature!

Meet with animals:

The Ardennes is a true paradise for all animal lovers! Not too far away from our domain, you could go for a walk with one of the donkeys of the Asinerie de l'Ô, visit the Ferme des Bisons and its majestic animals, or meet with the stags and hinds of the Parc Animalier de Saint-Hubert.

Go on a bike tour:

Our forest village Les Ardennes is the starting point for many bike trails in the green Forêt d’Anlier Nature Park. Rent your bike at our reception and go on a bike tour across the woods and meadows, thanks to our homemade bike tour leaflets.

A waterfall in a forest in Alsace

Alsace

Admire the view:

There is no shortage of panoramas in Alsace! Starting from forest village Nutchel Alsace, the Chatte Pendue walk brings you to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the entire valley. And if you wish to discover more about the history of Alsace, we also recommend you to go to the Donon mountain, which is both an exceptional viewpoint and an archaeological site, or to the Mont Saint-Odile, a renown pilgrimage place with views on the entire Plain of Alsace.

Taste the best Alsatian wines:

The Wine Route is a true symbol of the Alsatian terroir. It can be visited on foot or on top of a bike, and visitors can even venture into the heart of the vineyard. Discover the vineyards alongside winegrowers, without forgetting a tasting of their best bottles!

Cool off by a waterfall:

Whether you prefer the Molières or the Nideck waterfall, the sounds of trickling water Is the ideal soundtrack to relax and reconnect with nature. Use the opportunity to take a refreshing break before setting off again through the forest for a last hike in the late afternoon.
